Bio

Jonah Gray was born in Berkeley, California to a Danish mother and American father. He grew up in New Delhi, Khartoum and Berkeley. Jonah graduated in 2003 from Expression College for Digital Arts (Emeryville, California) with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Animation and Visual Effects.

From 2003 to 2005, Jonah lived in Copenhagen working on visual effects for the Lars Van Trier film Dogville.   Through Zentropa, Jonah created his first animated short film, The Snail and The Rosebush. During that time he also traveled to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to edit “Finding Tesfaye,” a 50-minute drama about a university student living with HIV AIDS and the stigma surrounding it.

Upon returning to the Bay Area, Jonah began working for ConceptArt.org, producing high quality educational art content for digital and traditional artists. That successful  partnership led him to ConceptArt.org’s brother company, MassiveBlack, Inc.   Under the mentorship of MassiveBlack’s President and Animation Director Chris Hatala, Jonah provides animation for video games and in-house intellectual properties.

At present, Jonah resides in Berkeley and continues to work in film and animation.
